It's not like you're going to MF with other people, the game's fundamental mechanics (i.e. Sleepwalking your way through 500 Baal runs to reach the upper levels does not sound like an appealing gameplay experience to me, and that's almost the sum total of PvM multiplayer unless you're just dicking around with a group of buddies. To me, the only thing online has going for it is PvP, because I think PvM multiplayer is terrible and pointless except for speed-leveling. With trading, you can have a 99% BiS character in so little time that it feels shallow and against the spirit of the game. To get a SoJ, you just need to find anything worth a SoJ, which takes almost no time. The item progression is much more sensible as well, whereas online you can get nearly all the best stuff very quickly because any valuable item you find is effectively every other item of the same general value. Finally getting that item you've been seeking for weeks feels so good compared to just trading for it. I find that single player feels much more rewarding because you have to find everything yourself.
